Bancroftians Celebrate GCSE Results

Following our superb A level results last week, we are delighted to report that GCSE numbers from the Fifth Form (year 11) look equally fantastic.

58% of all examinations taken received the top grade of A*, with twenty one pupils gaining a straight run of A*s.  89% of exams received either an A* or A grade and 99% were graded A*, A  or B.  Almost half of the year group achieved 8 or more A*s.

Most of our pupils have exceeded their expectations.  They have worked extremely hard whilst also contributing to School life through their involvement in sports, drama, music, the DofE scheme and the CCF.

Emily Lord, who gained 10A*s said that she “really didn’t expect this.  I’ve just got  A*s in English and I am lost for words!”  Josh Beardwell was leaping in delight at his 9A*s and an A, “I had to double check the numbers just to be certain.”
