Essex Chemistry Champs

Well done to the Bancroft’s Chemistry Mastermind team of Daffodil Dhayaa, Sarina Ramasamy, Swasthi Surendran and Alex Yan who have won the Essex Chemistry Mastermind competition organised by the Royal Society of Chemistry.

The competition, which is for pupils from year 9 to 11, took place at KEGS, in Chelmsford on Thursday 3 December.  The Bancroft’s team reached the Final this year by way of beating Colchester Royal Grammar School in the Semi-final, 42 – 26. They went on to face KEGS in a rematch of last year’s final.  The Bancroft’s team won the Final 65 – 41, so reversing last year’s defeat and making us RSC Essex Mastermind Champions for the first time! The team progresses to the National Top of the Bench competition, to be held in Loughborough in April, when they will represent Essex.
