At Bancroft’s, food matters.We believe that mealtimes should be both nutritious and enjoyable. That’s why our catering is entirely in-house, offering fresh, seasonal food to pupils aged 7 to 18.

We help our pupils make positive choices around their eating habits by creating varied menus that encourage exploration and balance.

Since 2005, we’ve invested in high-quality spaces, from our purpose-built dining hall to a vibrant, age-appropriate Sixth Form Café. But most importantly, we’ve built strong relationships with our pupils. This helps us introduce new foods and cuisines with confidence, including vegetarian, vegan and allergy-sensitive options, while helping children understand what goes into their meals.

Menus & Special Offerings

Our weekly menus are designed to excite and nourish. With a school community as diverse as ours, it’s important that everyone finds something they love.

We offer:

  • A wide range of daily options, including meat, vegetarian and vegan dishes.

  • Fresh soups, seasonal salads and homemade baked goods.

  • Age-appropriate dishes that suit younger pupils and more adventurous Sixth Formers.

  • Clearly labelled options for allergens and dietary requirements.

Menus are rotated regularly to keep things interesting and make the most of what’s in season.

Quality & Sustainability

We serve over 1400 meals a day, but quality comes first.

We work closely with local and sustainable suppliers to ensure that our food is fresh, responsibly sourced and environmentally sound. Because we manage all catering in-house, we have full control over every plate that’s served.

We are proud to:

  • Cook with seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.

  • Practise minimum waste cooking, turning surplus food into croutons, purées and stocks.

  • Reuse where possible and recycle effectively—including waste oil and packaging.

  • Use biodegradable straws, compostable containers and in-house glass bottles to reduce plastic use.

  • Partner only with suppliers who share our values and commitment to sustainability.
