Your 11+ Admissions Journey
We would be delighted to welcome you to Bancroft’s School. Whether you attend an Open Event or book a private tour, there’s no better way to experience the energy and warmth of our community.
Our next Open Morning will be on Saturday 7th June 2025. Booking will open in the new year.
To arrange a private tour of the school, please email admissions@bancrofts.org.
Read our online 11+ prospectus here.
After visiting Bancroft’s, if you would like to apply for a place, the first step is to register by completing our online application form. This includes a non-refundable registration fee of £150. As part of the process we will also contact your child’s current school for a personal reference.
We open registrations for the next academic year around Easter of the year before entry. For example, if you are seeking entry for September 2026, our admissions portal will open around Easter 2025.
To receive a reminder when the admissions portal opens please fill in this form.
Our entrance assessments are held on-site at Bancroft’s in early January.
Children sit three papers: an online reasoning test; a short English paper and a short maths test.
Please refer to our admissions policy for more details.
Children who perform well in the assessments are called back for interview; reports from current schools are also considered at this point.
This is a wonderful opportunity for Bancroft’s staff to meet your child and get to know them better.
Our interviews are one-on-one, and there’s no need for any special preparation. We welcome curious and inquisitive children who are eager to engage in conversations and share their thoughts on a wide range of topics, even ones they may not be familiar with.
Please rest assured that our aim is not to catch applicants out; instead, it’s a chance for them to get to know us better too.
Offers will be sent by email during our February half term, with the deadline to accept in early March
We are looking to fill around 60 places from external candidates at our 11+ entry point.
Please be aware that we also maintain a wait list for those who have performed exceptionally well in our tests and interview. Given the high demand for places and the limited number of available spots, not all applicants can be accommodated immediately. Being on the wait list is a positive position, and we will keep you informed if spaces become available.
Upon acceptance of a place, we require a £2500 deposit.
Understanding the significance of stepping into Senior School, we’re dedicated to ensuring this transition is as seamless and supportive as possible before the new term in September.
To facilitate this, we invite families to join us for an induction day in June. It’s a wonderful occasion for pupils to connect with their future classmates through engaging team-building activities and for families to acquaint themselves with the broader school community.
Additionally, the year group will start the school year a day ahead of their peers in September, and then embark on a residential trip during first weeks of term designed to unify the group and cement lasting friendships.
This unique experience sets the foundation for a supportive and closely-knit community from the very beginning.
