Meet Our Sixth Formers – Tom, U6

A Levels:

Biology, Chemistry and Maths. I completed my AS in French at the end of last year and am now studying it outside of school.

Degree or Future Aspirations:

My plan for university is to go to Edinburgh to study veterinary science and become a vet surgeon.

Positions of Responsibility:

I am East’s Deputy Head of House and am a Colour Sergent in the CCF. I have also been a young leader for the school’s Sea Scout Troop for the past four years.

Co-Curricular Activities:

The CCF  has been a lot of fun and has opened my mind a lot more to becoming a vet in the army.  With the summers on the water at Fairlop and all the camps, involvement with the Sea Scouts has  been one of my highlights. I have been involved with many plays and musicals including Sweeney Todd and Chicago.

Interests Outside School:

I am a triathlete and have most recently competed in the London triathlon where I came second in my age range.

How Bancroft’s has supported my academic progress::

Bancrofts at Sixth Form has not only helped but pushed me in my learning. I have been pushed to study outside the curriculum with the help of subject based societies as well as Olympiads and trips. I have also been helped in my revision and exam technique with the learning support team at school

Best things about Bancroft’s Sixth Form:

The best thing about the Sixth Form has been the incredible support we have had throughout the process of applying to university and doing exams. There is also so much to immerse yourself in at Bancroft’s and is an amazing place, not just to learn but also involve yourself with sports and activities that can stick with you forever.
