Head of Cricket: Mr Carl Greenidge

We regularly field ten teams; 1st X1, 2nd X1, U15A, U15B, U14A, U14B, U13A, U13B, U12A, U12B. The main square at School is predominantly used for 1st and 2nd XI fixtures with the two squares at West Grove hosting the Junior and Middle School sides.

Our regular friendly fixtures include blocks against schools in the Essex and London area, including Brentwood, Forest, Chigwell, Haberdashers Aske’s, Merchant Taylors’ and Colfe’s. We enter our boys’ middle and junior sides (U12s to U15s) into the Essex Schools’ Cup, a competition which we won in 2014.  We also enter girls’ teams nto the competition in which the U13 girls were 2022 champions.

Our senior cricketers have enjoyed regular tours to Namibia, South Africa and Barbados and we have offered an annual U12 tour within Essex in the first week of the summer holidays. In addition, the girls’ teams ahve enjoyed a mini tour to Suffolk.

A number of our junior and middle school students are also involved in both the Essex and Kent county age groups.

From a cricketing standpoint, our aim is to create independent thinking players who are committed to applying their practical skills and knowledge to the playing field. The focus is not to create great individuals but great teams.
