As part of the registration process, we will also contact your child’s current school to request a confidential reference.

Here at Bancroft’s Prep School we want to make all children feel welcome and at ease. Yes, we are a selective school but we believe that ‘academic’ must also mean warm and friendly, never cold.
The children visit us on two separate occasions in the January before their intended year of entry.
Our first Assessment Day will take place at Bancroft’s on Monday 5 January
The Maths and Non-Verbal Reasoning parts of our entrance assessments take place in the Prep School on Monday 5 January.

Joining Bancroft’s at 7+ means becoming part of an all-through school from the outset.
Prep School pupils transfer automatically to the Senior School at 11+, with no further assessments or admissions steps required.
Their connection with the Senior School is developed throughout their time in the Prep, and in Year 6 this is strengthened further through a dedicated programme of transition events and experiences, helping pupils move into Year 7 with confidence, familiarity and excitement.
