ARTiculation 2016

Congratulations to Lower Sixth Former Tyler Ward-Bagnald for his performance in the London Round (Quarter Finals) of this year’s ARTiculation Prize speaking competition.  He presented his speech on Banksy’s “Very Little Helps” at the Whitechapel Gallery on Thursday 22 January, when he faced competition from, amongst others, speakers from Highgate School, Camden School for Girls and The Goldolphin & Latymer School.  His talk was described as “excellent.”

Tyler is an engaging and competent public speaker and his talk was very popular with the audience.

ARTiculation Judges

We wish him luck for the next round which takes place on Monday 22 February at The National Gallery, this is the Regional Heat and is, in effect, the Semi-Final of the competition before the Finals at Cambridge in the spring.

The Roche Court Educational Trust’s ARTiculation initiative is designed to stimulate students’ interest and understanding of art while developing individual thinking, observation, research, language and presentation skills. Artist Antony Gormely said, “ARTiculation is changing the future of British art criticism for the best.”  Bancroft’s enjoyed considerable success in last year’s competition with Thomas Leung being placed third in the National Final with his talk on The Turbine Hall at Tate Modern.
