Bancroft’s Prep Conquers at Mini Games
Congratulations to the pupils from Bancroft’s Prep who won the overall trophy for the Redbridge Mini Games for the first time ever this year. All our Prep 2s took part back in March (see picture below of the Prep 2s with the trophy) but some events were completed late in the summer term due to poor weather! Some of our pupils have represented Redbridge in the London Mini Games and Youth Games, the largest sports event for youngsters in Europe. The Prep Hockey and Netball teams, as winners, went on to participate at Crystal Palace representing Redbridge in the London Mini Games. The Football team were runners up, the Tag Rugby team came 4th , the Sportshall Athletics team 4th and Tri Golf 3rd. Our Alpha and Beta (year 3 & 4) Tennis team went to Crystal Palace, where they gained Bronze medals. Three of our swimmers, Zach Foster, Dora Zhou and George Whalley represented Redbridge in the swimming, with George coming first in the 50m Freestyle with a personal best of 30.86sec.
