Bancroft’s Prep to Represent Redbridge

On Wednesday 7 March all of our Prep 2s took part in the Redbridge Mini Games.  Forty three primary and prep schools from the borough took part in a wide variety of competitions.  Bancroftians performed really well to win both the mixed hockey and high 5 netball; they had already won the swimming gala which had been held beforehand.  In addition, they were placed fourth in the tri-gold and twelfth in the sportshall athletics.  Both the tag rugby and football had to be postponed due to the bad weather, but Bancroft’s had already reached the quarter finals of both competitions.  Final positions will be announced once these remaining competitions have been held.  Following these performances, the Hockey and Netball Teams have qualified to represent Redbridge at the Youth Games at Crystal Palace on 29 March.   Four of our swimmers have also been selected to represent Redbridge.

In the Essex Hockey Tournament, the girls’ team were runners up to Felsted and the boys were placed fourth.  Both teams included both U10 and U11 players.

The week has also seen victories against a variety of schools: netball against Mossford and St Josephs, boys’ hockey against New Hall and football against both St Aubyns and Forest.
