Bancroft’s Pupil wins Poetry Prize

Congratulations to Anna Tindall (L4N) whose entry Good Country Air has been awarded first prize in the Young People’s Category (for ages 12-18) of the 2010 Buxton Poetry Competition. The judges of the competition, which is part of the Buxton Festival, an annual music and literature festival, were impressed with the quality of this year’s entries and the wide range of interpretations of the theme which was “A Breath of Fresh Air”.  Anna has been invited to a special Award Ceremony in Buxton to receive her prize; her poem will also be on display as part of an exhibition at the Devonshire Dome in Buxton.
