Charlie Walker: A Life of Adventure
We were delighted to welcome back Charlie Walker, a renowned British explorer, writer, and speaker, to Bancroft's.
Known for his human-powered expeditions to some of the world’s most remote regions, Charlie’s adventures have captured global attention.
Among his extraordinary achievements are a 43,000-mile cycling journey through Asia and Africa, a 5,200-mile triathlon from Mongolia to Nepal, and remarkable expeditions such as navigating the Congo by dugout canoe and traversing Siberia. A published author of two books, his work has also featured on the BBC and in leading publications.
Charlie shared stories from his incredible journey cycling across Europe and Asia with our Upper Sixth students. His thought-provoking talk explored themes of courage, resilience, and the value of embracing kindness from strangers, encouraging students to consider the rewards of calculated risks.
Thank you, Charlie, for another inspiring visit to Bancroft’s!
