Edinburgh Fringe 2015

Following previous successes, including last year's near sell-out Company, the Bancroft's Players again be appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe festival this summer.

This year’s production was, Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime.  Adapted by Constance Cox from the Oscar Wilde short story this sparkling comedy is stuffed full of witty one liners about marriage, society and anarchy!   A mysterious fortune teller informs Lord Arthur that he is destined to commit a murder in the future. Rather than subject his bride-to-be to this potential scandal, he determines to commit the undetectable crime before marrying. His partners in crime, however, prove somewhat less than adequate.

Directed by Helen Gartland, Head of English, and with a cast ranging from the U4 to U6, Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime  proved to be a popular production attracting good audience for each performance. Whilst in Edinburgh, the cast had a chance to experience the many attractions of the Fringe: poetry, circus, stand up and drama
