Essex Cup Champions

What a way to finish the season for our U15 boys’ cricket team who have been crowned Essex Cup Champions 2026.

The team, who were last year’s U14s, began the day with a semi-final against Gosfield School. Jun-Le’s unbeaten 62 helped Bancroft’s reach 103 before the bowlers took over, with Riyan taking 2 for 11 and Idrees 1 for 8 to see the team through to the final.

In the final against Brentwood School, Bancroft’s chose to bat first and put 148 on the board. Jun-Le was again at the heart of the innings, hitting 78 from 50 balls, while Eesa and Idrees added 22 and 28 respectively.

The team then bowled Brentwood School out for fewer runs, with Riyan taking another 2 wickets, this time for just 7 runs from his four overs, and Eesa claiming 2 for 22.

The result also means the team have qualified for the National Cup in 2027!

Well done to all our players for a fantastic team effort.
