Once a Bancroft’s Cadet, Now a Reviewing Officer
Twenty one years after leaving Bancroft’s, Squadron Leader Liz Herbert returned on Tuesday 17 March as Reviewing Officer for the CCF Biennial Review, adding particular significance to one of the most important events in the CCF calendar.
Competing across a series of demanding military stands for the Biennial Section Competition Shield and the Dan Clack Trophy, cadets rose to the occasion with real distinction. RSM Henry H led a parade that was, by every measure, executed superbly.

Liz left Bancroft’s in 2004 before completing a Physics degree and joining the RAF. Since then, she has built an impressive career, flying Tristars and Voyagers, teaching at the Defence Academy in Shrivenham and working in the complex field of air transport logistics.
She spoke highly of the cadets and their engagement during the Review, and her speech at the prize-giving ceremony made a strong impression. Her return was a proud moment for Bancroft’s and a fitting way to recognise the achievements of the cadets involved.
