Pastoral Care Award Finalist
Bancroft's is delighted to have been named a finalist in the Pastoral Care & Wellbeing category of the 2026 Talk Education Awards for Innovation in Education, recognising the school's commitment to supporting the wellbeing of every pupil.
The shortlist follows Bancroft’s being named Pastoral Care Champion at last year’s School House Awards, highlighting the continued strength of pastoral care across the school community.
Commenting on the achievement, Alex Frazer, Head of Bancroft’s said:
“There’s something of a myth out there that an academically ambitious school can’t also be a school where young people are truly known as individuals, looked after properly, encouraged and empowered. At Bancroft’s, we rejected that myth long ago. Being in contention for an award reflecting the quality of our pastoral care for the second year running means education sector experts agree with us!”
Deputy Head Pastoral, Elizabeth Channer added:
“Looking after the wellbeing of children is a delicate and nuanced business, but always a privilege. It is not always obvious what the impact of our work has been, but everyone who contributes to the pastoral effort understands that it is a long-term investment. We are thrilled to be honoured in this way and it speaks to the deep care that we have as a community for our most precious assets: our pupils.”
The winners of the 2026 Talk Education Awards will be announced on 10 September. Bancroft’s is proud to be recognised among the leading schools in this important area of school life and would like to thank all staff who contribute every day to creating a caring, supportive and inclusive community.
