Quarter finals for U19 netballers

<p style=”text-align: justify;”>Congratulations to the U19 netballers who have now progressed to the quarter finals of the Independent Schools Netball Cup. Following convincing earlier victories in this knockout tournament against Ipswich High School and St Catherine’s, they faced a very tall team from Wycombe Abbey at home on 5 December.
<p style=”text-align: justify;”>The Coach, Miss Telford, said it was a superb game of netball, “Fast, flowing and accurate.” The Wycombe Abbey team quickly took a 3-0 lead, however the Bancroft’s girls steadily caught up to emerge the winners at 55 goals to 30.
<p style=”text-align: justify;”>The whole team must be praised for exceptionally good play but special congratulations must go to Sophie Luck for her accurate shooting, she missed just three chances at goal in the whole of the game, and to our awesome defensive pair of Kike Solanke and Kris Sim. Bethany Lamb also deserves a particular mention for making her first team debut.
<p style=”text-align: justify;”>Miss Telford said that the amount of support the girls received last night, particularly from members of staff, some of whom were new to netball, was very encouraging!
<p style=”text-align: justify;”>There are now just eight schools in the whole of the country left in the tournament. The girls will face Portsmouth Grammar School (away) in the quarter finals, which have to be played before half term.
<p style=”text-align: justify;”>
<p style=”text-align: justify;”>
