99% of our Upper Sixth leavers continue to higher education; each year more than 75% of them progress to Russell Group universities. Destinations and courses of study are varied; popular courses in 2021 included Economics, Engineering, Medicine, Maths, English, History and Law. The following universities have become the most popular destinations over recent years; Cambridge, Nottingham, UCL, Imperial College, Warwick, Durham, Exeter, Bristol and King's College London,The table below shows the destinations for Bancroftians in 2021*.
A number of workshops on university applications are laid on throughout the Lower and Upper Sixth including Competitive University Admission Workshop; University and Careers Fair and Apprenticeship Evening. The actual UCAS process begins around the end of June in the Lower Sixth year, and throughout this period advice, training and help is given. Applications are thoroughly checked and processed in the autumn term. Where applicable, we arrange pupils to undergo mock medical, dentistry, veterinary and Oxbridge interviews with subject specialists.
