Hard Work Rewarded on GCSE Results Day at Bancroft’s
It was a proud morning at Bancroft’s as pupils in the Fifth Form (Year 11) received their GCSE results, with 88% of grades awarded at grades 9 to 7. Overall, 70% were at 9 or 8 and 43% were at the very top grade 9.
Across the year group, almost a quarter of pupils achieved a full set of grades at 9 or 8.
Behind those numbers are months of steady work and the encouragement of teachers, families and friends. Pupils have balanced revision with rehearsals, matches, concerts and community projects, showing that academic success need not come at the expense of a full school life.
Alex Frazer, Head of Bancroft’s, commented on the good news:
“I feel very proud of all our pupils who are collecting their GCSE results today. They have worked hard, set their sights high and been thoroughly rewarded for their determination. They have laid excellent foundations for their Sixth Form studies. My thanks to all my colleagues who have put so much energy and expertise into teaching and encouraging the pupils.”
Upper Fourth (Year 10) pupils also had cause for celebration, with 52 taking Mathematics a year early and 96% awarded grade 9. Their achievement is warmly congratulated alongside today’s results.
We now look forward to welcoming pupils into the Sixth Form, where they will build on their achievements and take on fresh opportunities and challenges.
