Our Futures programme combines high quality careers education with individual guidance that helps pupils connect their strengths, interests and values to the world of work.
We want every pupil to take ownership of their aspirations and decisions from the very start. Through talks, workshops, mentoring and tailored support, pupils develop the confidence and skills they need to move into further education, training or work.
Pupils are encouraged to understand their strengths, interests and values from an early stage. Through the Futures workshops and dedicated strengths and values sessions, they begin to build a clearer picture of what motivates them and where their talents lie. All pupils have access to the Unifrog platform, which helps them explore university courses, apprenticeships and career pathways in an organised, engaging way. This learning is complemented by regular talks from Old Bancroftians and monthly lunchtime Q and As, which offer real insights into the wide range of opportunities available beyond school.
We help pupils develop the practical skills they need to move confidently into further study or the workplace. Career planning sessions guide them through the process of considering options and setting realistic goals, while CV and job application lessons equip them with the tools to present themselves effectively. Pupils also benefit from interview preparation sessions and transition talks that help them understand what life after school will require. Personal finance enrichment lessons give them a grounding in essential money management skills that support independence and wellbeing.
Individual support is available to every pupil, ensuring they can explore their next steps with clarity and confidence. One to one sessions with the Head of Careers provide personalised, impartial guidance on higher education, apprenticeships, gap years and employment pathways. Pupils aiming for highly competitive routes benefit from specialist support, including Oxbridge preparation and focused mentoring for those applying to study medicine, dentistry or veterinary science. Throughout the process, pupils are encouraged to take ownership of their choices while being supported by knowledgeable staff who understand their ambitions.
One to one support is available throughout the year groups. Pupils can meet with the Head of Pupil Potential to explore feasible pathways in higher education, training, apprenticeships, internships or employment. Our impartial guidance is a whole school effort supported by tutors, teachers and Senior House Staff.

With a background that spans education, law, banking and international schools, he brings a broad perspective on how young people can connect their talents to life beyond Bancroft’s. His focus is on helping every pupil recognise their strengths, explore opportunities and feel confident about shaping their future.
