Sixth Form Life

A community where independence and support go hand in hand

Life in the Sixth Form at Bancroft’s feels different from the rest of school. You’ll have the freedom to manage your time and studies like a university student, but with the backing of tutors, mentors and friends who know you well. Sixth Form is about stretching yourself, trying new experiences, and building the confidence to thrive beyond school.

Belonging to a House

Every Sixth Former is part of a house, with a Housemaster/mistress and tutor team offering daily support. Houses give you a community within the wider school, with opportunities for drama, music, sport, competitions and leadership.

Your Day-to-Day

Sixth Formers benefit from dedicated spaces designed for both study and relaxation, including a shared common room and café, a Sixth Form library and a seminar room for quiet independent work and research.

Opportunities Beyond the Classroom

Sixth Form life at Bancroft’s is packed with opportunities to get involved, lead and grow. Students can perform in the House Drama Festival and senior school productions, join music ensembles and concerts from choir and orchestra to student-led bands, and take on the challenge of CCF or the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award. A wide range of clubs and societies spans every subject and interest, with plenty of scope to start something new. Leadership is built in, too, through Student Congress, mentoring younger pupils and serving as House Prefects.

Trips & Adventures

Sixth Form is full of with to go beyond the classroom. From academic field trips (Norfolk biology, international economics lectures) to sports tours, expeditions and cultural visits, there are chances to travel, explore and learn in different settings.

“I love the independence you get in the Sixth Form — but there’s always someone there if you need help. It feels like the best preparation for university life."
