BAFTA for Bancroft’s
Back in June 2011 some of our pupils were asked to take part in an intriguing project for Somethin’ Else production company for Channel 4 Education. This was the live footage prologue to an on-line game Nightmare High. This game seeks to help children deal with some of their concerns when moving to senior schools at year 7 and so make the transition period easier. Sequences were filmed at School and our pupils were required to act totally against type: ie badly! We have just heard that the project was awarded a Children’s BAFTA at the ceremony held at the Park Lane Hilton on 25 November. Nightmare High won in the “Interactive” category: a surprise for the production team as they were up against incredibly fierce competition from projects commissioned by CBBC and Cbeebies.
Producer Jim Holmes of Somethin’ Else said, “The game has been played hundreds of thousands of times since it launched. Thanks so much for all of your help on the project, we couldn’t have done it without you.”
