Bancroft’s Swingers Reunion Concert

The Bancroft’s Swingers gave their Second Reunion Concert on Saturday 8 January 2011, in the Great Hall. Concert organiser Ms D Mittel had her fingers firmly crossed for good weather; a concert planned for last year had to be cancelled due to snow! Once again it was an unique and highly entertaining event.  Special guest at the concert was John Altman – school parent and internationally acclaimed jazz musician.  Altman has worked with some of the biggest names in rock and jazz as producer and musician and has won numerous major awards for his work.   As before, he directed the rehearsal.  The music was performed by a massed group of musically talented Bancroftians past and present.   Ms D Mittel who is  the Musical Director of the Bancroft’s Swingers recently presented a cheque for the very impressive sum of £2647 raised through by concert to Alison Kempthorne, In Patient Unit Manager at the St Clare Hospice
