Bath Netball Tour 2024

On the first day our journey started with a match against Monkton Combe Prep School, the weather was not the best but we were still really excited for the few days ahead. After the game, we made our way to the youth hostel, our home base for the duration of the tour. As evening descended, we indulged in a delicious dinner at Pizza Express, followed by a thrilling netball match between Team Bath and SevenStars. The intensity on the court kept us at the edge of our seats, adding to the excitement of our first day.

On the second day we had started our day with a beautiful view of snow all over bath and a hearty breakfast at the hostel, we embarked on a long stroll in the snow to a nearby bus stop, where we hopped on a sightseeing tour bus. Where we saw places such as famous landmarks to riverside views, the tour provided us with a glimpse into the heart of the city. Our next stop took us back in time as we explored the historic Roman Baths, immersing ourselves in the rich history and architecture of the ancient site. With free time to roam the streets, we ventured into specialty shops, such as the Fudge Kitchen emerging as a personal favourite for its irresistible treats to a shop which sold handmade crafts and more. The afternoon brought a dose of friendly competition as we hit the bowling alley, followed by a satisfying dinner at Gourmet Burger Kitchen, finishing off the day with laughter and good food.

On the final day Rising early, we filled ourselves with a hearty breakfast before hitting the road for another day of netball action. Arriving at our destination, we engaged in spirited fixtures against Laurel Parks and Element Netball Club, taking in the opportunity to showcase our skills against varied opponents. As the final whistle blew, signalling the end of our matches, we bid farewell to our opponents and left, reflecting on the bonds forged over the course of the tour.

Reflections: As we journeyed back to school, memories of our netball tour were discussed, etching the shared experiences and memories along the way. From intense matches to cultural explorations, this netball tour provided us with a platform to grow as athletes and individuals. As we look back on this unforgettable trip, we are grateful for the friendships formed, the teacher’s commitment and the lessons learned, knowing that the memories will last a lifetime.
