England U18 Call Up For Grace
Fantastic news for L6 (Yr12) pupil Grace, who has been selected as part of the England U18 ladies' hockey squad.
During a period of such upheaval, this is a real tribute to Grace’s commitment. She has previously represented England as an U16 player, and with a total of 9 goals she was the top goal scorer for England during the 2018-19 season.
It’s been a very tough year to stay focused and committed but she’s done it! I’m so pleased for her.
Jo Fryer-Green, Head of Girls’ Sport
Grace will be busy over the summer with a programme including training camps and training days at weekends. There is also a GB and Ireland Series planned for July, with England playing matches against Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
Of the future, Grace says, “I definitely want to continue to progress and would like to play during university and try and reach as far up as I can go. The pathway is England U21 and the GB Elite Development Programme (EDP) and then getting selected from the GB EDP for the senior GB squad.” We look forward to following her career.
