GCSE Results 2013
Despite the gloomy weather, our fifth form pupils were smiling as they collected their GCSE results this morning. With 98.3% of all examinations being awarded grades A*, A or B they had plenty to smile about; this represented a best ever for the School. Over half of all examinations taken were awarded the highest grade of A*. Eight pupils achieved the fantastic achievement of a clean sweep of ten A*s; and 16 of the year group gained 9 or more A*s.
Head, Mary Ireland, said, “I am really proud of the year group; they have all worked very hard and every one of them has achieved a good set of grades.” In a year when results nationally have seen a dip, Bancroft’s pupils have again bucked the trend.
The U4 accelerated Maths and French sets also did extremely well. All 23 pupils who sat French gained an A* and 49 out of 51 who sat Maths a year early also gained an A*.
