GCSE Successes 2014

Following on from the fantastic A Level results of last week, it was the Fifth Form's turn to be in the examination spotlight this morning.  In a year when the Department of Education is describing results nationwide as being “volatile”,  maintained it standards with 97% of all exams taken being awarded grades A*, A or B.  A fifth of the pupils in the year group have achieved 8 A*s or better.  We have seen the best ever performance in Maths with 80% of the year group obtaining an A* in Maths: a fantastic display.  Almost half (47.5%) of all exams taken were awarded an A*, compared with 3.7% nationally.
