The sixth annual Medicine Matters Conference happened at on Wednesday 23 October at Bancroft's School.
This joint venture with Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry attracted over 180 visitors from thirteen local schools. The day is designed to give students who are considering a medical career a realistic and informed view of the commitment required to succeed, and of the realities of being a doctor in the 21st century.
Twenty five of our own pupils also attended this event, which consisted of a series of workshops and keynote presentations by staff and students from Barts and The London on topics such as a career in medicine or dentistry, applying to med school, suturing, clinical skills (including taking blood from a dummy!) and other practical workshops.
It was an excellent day enjoyed by all. Thanks to all those who helped to make it happen, especially our own catering, ICT and support staff and the admin staff at QMUL.
