MFL Leaders in Prep
As part of a nationally recognised leadership award, a group of twenty four members of our Sixth Form have spent time in the Prep School this week teaching lessons in French to classes from year 3 to year 6.
The pupils ran various activities including card games, quizzes, speaking activities in role play situations and singing songs in French, covering topics such as days of the week and food. They are working towards their Modern Foreign Language Leaders’ Award, which stipulates they need to teach and run various events to improve their communication and presentation skills and contribute to the wider community. Although some are studying a MFL for A Level, this is not a prerequisite to take part in the scheme. The Award proved very successful last year, which was the first time it had been organised at Bancroft’s.
