North House raises record for danceaid

On Friday 24 June members of North House  presented the charity danceaid with a cheque for a fantastic £5,600.  The money, a record amount raised by a school for danceaid, had been raised by a North House Family Evening.  Britain’s Got Talent finalists (2010) Twist and Pulse who are patrons of danceaid were special guest performers at the evening.  Trevor Ward, Housemaster of North House said, “The evening brought out the very best in the pupils, with many musical, dramatic and, of course, dance talents on display.  Twist and Pulse’s dynamic performance provided a fitting and energetic finale to the evening.”

Laura Wilson  who set up danceaid two years ago, received the money and said that she had fabulous memories of the evening and the mature and professional way in which the students organised it.  She also spoke of the high standards of performance from the pupils.  Laura further explained that “every penny of the huge total will go to help impoverished, orphaned and exploited children in the UK, Africa and Asia.”

danceaid harnesses the energy, the passion, and the popularity of dance to transform the lives of vulnerable children. danceaid wants to raise the UK and beyond to its feet to help orphaned, poor, and exploited children in the developing world, and here in the UK !
