Oxbridge and University Offers 2023

We are delighted to announce that thirteen members of this year’s U6 (Year 13) have received offers from Oxbridge colleges, along with one of our 2022 leavers. A Level grades permitting, two will be off to Oxford and twelve to Cambridge. Subjects include: maths, medicine, English, law, classics, music, history, chemical engineering, natural sciences and land economy.

In addition, other members of the year group have received offers from some of the most prestigious universities in the country, such as: Imperial College, Bath, Durham, St Andrew’s and UCL. They have gained offers for a variety of competitive courses: economics, engineering law, medicine and veterinary science. These achievements reflect on the hard work of our pupils as well as the commitment and encouragement given by our teaching staff here at Bancroft’s.  Philip Harrison, Head of Bancroft’s Sixth Form, said, “We are incredibly proud of the achievements of all our students. To be getting such a fantastic range of offers in the current competitive landscape is a real tribute to the hard work and scholarship they have shown.”

Bancroft’s Head, Simon Marshall, commented, “I am delighted for those of our students who have received offers from Oxford and Cambridge (although equally commiserate with those who tried but were unsuccessful). We are all aware of how competitive the best courses at the best UK universities have become, so it is wonderful to see such success this year at these two iconic universities. It is also the case that this cohort of students have received some great offers from other universities and from some of the best degree-apprenticeship providers. We will be looking to build on these successes in the future, but, in the meantime, wish our 2023 A Level cohort all the best for the remaining months before the final examinations.”
