Prep 2s at Chigwell Football Tournament

<div style=”text-align: justify;”>The Bancroft’s Prep 2 boys football team looked to start the season brightly as they were amongst 24 local schools competing at the Chigwell School Annual Football Tournament on Saturday 8 September.

On a gloriously sunny and hot day the Bancroft’s Prep 2 boys started the tournament well with sharp pass-and-move football as they won 1-0 in the opening game against Theydon Bois with the goal coming from Umar Azad. Bancroft’s really got into their stride in the second game as they swept aside Avon House 3-0 with goals coming from Daian Pham, Khaya Roudette-Gregory and Viraj Ghandi. Despite still playing some fantastic football in the third game against Fairlop Primary, a last minute deflected goal meant Bancroft’s lost 2-1 after Viraj had scored to take the lead. Bancroft’s then tired as they lost 1-0 to both Hereward Primary and Loyola despite good creative play from Rohan Barodia and Ranveer Gill . Next, Bancroft’s fought hard against Snaresbrook College as the solid defence of Harry Lorrell, Samuel Kelly, Alex O’Brien and smart saves from Bradley Lennard gave the boys a well earned 0-0 draw. In the final game the Prep 2s finished a great day with a bang as they comfortably beat Daiglen School 4-1 with goals coming from Viraj and a hat-trick from Khaya. Well done to all the boys for playing some attractive football and showing a good team spirit throughout the day.
