Prep 2s Reach New Peaks in their Residential
Bancroft's Prep 2s (Year 6) spent a fantastic week exploring the natural beauty of the Peak District. This was a new trip in a new location for us but everyone had a fantastic time.
The trip included the usual range of exciting adventurous activities like climbing, abseiling, caving and canoeing, but it also included some gentler activities such as bread-making. On the last full day of the trip, the whole year group hiked along to ridge between Lose Hill and Mam Tor- a round trip of about 8 miles. The children tried new things, they challenged themselves, they developed their teamwork skills and they made memories they’ll remember for the rest of their lives. Even though the vast majority of the children are transferring to the Senior School in September, the end of their Prep years mark a poignant rite of passage and it was such a thrill to be able to mark it in an appropriate way once again.
Sohan M said: “I already loved canoeing but on this trip I also loved caving because it made us feel like explorers”. We are already looking forward to returning to the Peak District with the current Prep 1s next year.
