Prep Charity Day

Well done to all the members of the Prep School who raised £4,450 (and still counting) with their Charity Day on Friday 14 June.  The money will be split between two really worthwhile causes: Epping Forest Phab Club and Future Hope.   In addition, Bancroft’s Prep will continue to support a boy, Ramon, in Nicaragua.  Epping Forest Phab Club (which meets at the Prep School) sees disabled and able bodied people working together to have fun.   Future Hope provides opportunity through its homes, schools and medical programme for some of the most vulnerable children from the streets and slums of Kolkata, India.

The pupils really threw themselves into a day of fun raising activities for some fantastic causes.  Early on there was a variety of sponsored events.  Alphas and Betas held a Danceathon in which they danced non-stop to Thriller, Prep 1s did a three-legged obstacle course twice around the School field while Prep 2s did a sporting circuit.

During the afternoon, our Prep 1 and 2s pupils set up a variety of stalls on the School field.  There was laser tag, various sporting activities, a chocolate fountain, a popcorn machine, smoothie making, an international food stall, a raffle and lots of water events during which pupils and some willing volunteers from the teaching staff got drenched got drenched!

Allison Moor, who is the Prep Charity Coordinator, said, “The day was a huge success and a great deal of fun, as always. The weather held and the sun appeared later in the afternoon. The children enjoy the fun and frivolities of the day immensely but also the opportunity to help others.”
