Prep Presentation to Phab

<p style=”text-align: center;”> <img alt=”” src=”images/prep_phab_web.jpg” style=”width: 320px; height: 229px;” /></p> <p style=”text-align: justify;”> Epping Forest Phab Club was given a huge boost by Bancroft’s Preparatory School when Head, Joe Layburn, handed the club  £2150 raised at the School’s annual Charity Day in the summer.  Mr Layburn presented the cheque to 9 year old Evie Jones during School Assembly on Friday 15 November.  Evie is a pupil at Brookfield House School in Woodford and regular member of Phab; she spoke to the Prep pupils about the fun she has at the club, “We get to do arts and crafts, music and play Boccia.  Sometimes we have trips – my favourite was bowling, although my mum wasn’t very good at it!”  Evie also said that she hopes the money will go towards more outings for Phab members.  Epping Forest Phab meets every Monday at Bancroft’s Prep and has seen a steady increase in membership since the club started earlier this year. </p> <p style=”text-align: justify;”> Joe Layburn said it was a delight to hand over the cheque to Evie and for the Prep School children to hear how it will help her and her friends who meet every week. “We’re proud to support Phab and Evie is a brilliant example of a girl who loves life and focuses on all her many abilities rather than her disability.”  He also announced that Phab has been nominated as the School’s home charity for this school year, which means even more support for Evie and her fellow Phab members.  Nick Maloney, Head of Sixth Form and  Phab Committee Member, said, “Education outside the classroom is important and Phab at Bancroft’s is another opportunity for our students to immerse themselves in the local community whilst also challenging their perceptions of disability.”</p> <p>  </p>
