Science Week Success

In March the School celebrated National Science Week with a number of exciting events both within and outside of the classroom.  This included a national poster competition entitled ‘How do you solve a problem like….’ for which pupils needed to present their design for an invention which would solve an everyday problem.  

There were four age categories and 27,500 entries from around the country.  Rohini Datta of  3S won the competition for her age category with a fantastic design for a ‘food friendly fridge’ which scans the food that you put in to the fridge and gives you advance warning when it is approaching its best before date.  Not only that but the screen on the front of the fridge displays suggestion for recipes for the food you have stored!  The School has also won a Science Show which will be run by one of the scientists involved in National Science & Engineering Week.  Congratulations to Rohini!
