Sports Day at the Prep

The first day after half term saw our annual sports day take place for the Bancroft’s Prep pupils.  A rather overcast day certainly didn't have any impact on the enthusiasm of the young competitors.

The morning sessions included some jumping and throwing finals as well as a sporting carousel which saw each individual earning plenty of points for their House. Bag shift, shuttle runs, bean bag toss and cricket target throw were just a few of the events which saw the teamwork ethics of each House come to the forefront and an abundance of enthusiastic young competitors. In the afternoon, we welcomed the parents to sports day to watch every child take part in a competitive sprint and relay race.

The sports day results followed the pattern for this year as the Manor ‘steam train’ kept chugging along to gain another victory towards retaining the House Cup.

As we emerge from the pandemic, it has been great to welcome parents back into the Prep school once more. Events such as sports day really do give us a feeling that we are “getting our school back.”
